Show Notes

There’s not a whole lot to “note” about this show besides the excellent production by Arwen Nicks and Alissa Atkins. Well, that and the incredible potential hinted at in the trailer. So let’s talk about what to expect from season two!

In a nutshell, we’ll be talking to people.

More specifically we’ll be talking to such celebrated figures from the wide world of entertainment as: Alex and Victoria from Beach House, Sam Beam from Iron and Wine, Tad from TAD, Benjamin Gibbard from both Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, Kathleen Hanna, Father John Misty, Jonah Ray, members of CSS and Clipping, our boss and benefactor Jonathan Poneman (More than once! He’s the boss!), plus, reliably, “more.”

We also took the Sub Pop Podcast on the road, with trips to both Poland and Portland, and down to the Sub Pop store at Sea-Tac Airport. So get ready for all of that!

Voices you hear in the trailer, if you listen carefully:

Sam Beam (Iron and Wine; Sam Beam and Jesca Hoop), Ana Rezende & Luiza Sa (CSS), Hutch Harris (The Thermals), Rachel Rhymes (Employee), Josh Tillman (Father John Misty), Victoria Legrand (Beach House), William Hutson (Clipping), Kane (Employee), Tad Doyle (TAD), Jonah Ray (Funny Guy That Does Shit), Kathleen Hanna (The Julie Ruin), Daveed Diggs (Clipping), Stuart Fletcher (Voice of the Mega Mart and man who hates when Arwen curses), Jonathan Poneman (boss), Kyle Craft (Kyle Craft), Jimmy Tamborello (The Postal Service; Dntel).

And because you love it and need it, here’s a GIFfy in a jiffy of John Atkins extras we didn’t use for the trailer art.

Until October 12! Take care.
